About the Book

The Hornbill Song

(Holud Paakhir Gaan)

In the mist-shrouded hills of Nagaland, music becomes more than art—it becomes a bridge between worlds.

In the year 2000, Rick, a gifted Naga musician, meets Priya, a Bengali classical singer. Their love blooms across cultures, languages, and histories—but soon collides with prejudice, family secrets, and societal pressures that refuse to bend. Torn apart by forces beyond their control, their story remains unfinished, echoing in silence.

Twenty years later, their daughter Pakhi returns to Kohima, carrying questions that time never answered. As she retraces her parents’ past, she encounters Aarav, whose connection to her story runs far deeper than coincidence. Together, they unravel buried truths—about love, identity, and the invisible lines that divide people.

As Pakhi stands at the crossroads of past and present, she must decide:
Can love truly transcend culture, loss, and time—or are some songs meant to remain unfinished?
